For the first time, Twitter raises the price of its ‘Blue’ subscription

For the very first time, Twitter has raised the price of its premium ‘Blue’ subscription this week. The subscription service has been available for around a year and is only available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It usually runs for $2.99 per month, but the company is raising prices quite dramatically up to $4.99 per month.

The new price has been quick to make its mark, the latest version of the Twitter iOS app already has the $4.99 price listed, so newcomers to the service will be paying the increased cost. Twitter is delaying this for early adopters however, they wont see the price jump until October 2022. (Early adopters is just everyone who already has an existing subscription)

Twitter hasn’t been very transparent as to what could cause the stark price jump, but the only thing they have said is that the price increase will help the company “continue to build some of the new features.”

Twitter Blue gives users access to features like the ability to undo a tweet, ad-free articles, custom app icons, themes, custom app navigation on iOS and much more.
