Ford Focus to end production this November

Ford Focus ST

Ford launched the iconic Focus hatchback back in 1998, replacing the Escort that came before it. Now, later this year in November - Ford will end production of the car, paving the way for the electric cars that the company is focusing on.

The end of the Focus wasn't a surprise announcement, as the company announced that this would happen before 2025. The company has been clearing out its core roster of models in the last few years to make way for its new EV models. Elsewhere, Ford removed the Fiesta from sale in summer 2023 and the Mondeo was pulled in 2022.

Going forward, Ford needs to focus on its electric models, with the Explorer, Capri and Mustang Mach-E. Coming soon will be the Puma Gen-E, which will be its least expensive EV to date.

In a recent statement to AutoExpress, Ford said the following:

“The Focus has been an important part of the Ford family in Europe for over 20 years, and we are deeply grateful for the loyalty and passion our customers have shown for this iconic vehicle.”

As of the time of publication, Ford is still taking orders for the Focus, with prices from £28,500.
