Ford increases price of all electric Mustang Mach-E

Ford increases price of all electric Mustang Mach-E

Ford has recently raised the price of the all electric Mustang Mach-E by around £6,000. The company has cited a rise on costs for materials and energy, with the SUV now costing £47,530, a dramatic increase over the entry level price of £41,330. The Mustang Mach-E price was increased earlier this month on 1st April.

Only the entry level model, the Standard Range RWD is under £50,000 in the UK, with the Extended Range RWD model costing £52,080, a smaller increase from the previous £49,980. In fact, every single model of the Mustang Mach-E has had a price increase with the Standard Range AWD now costing £54,100, a large jump from the previous £46,650. Finally the Extended Range AWD is now £61,480, up from £57,030.

Even the top of the range Ford Mustang Mach-E GT has had a price increase, admittedly much less than the lower models, but still an increase. The Mach-E GT is now £68,030, a small increase from the previous £67,225.

Ford has said that there is still some demand for the Mustang Mach-E, despite having the price dramatically increased throughout the range. Ford spoke to Autocar this week who said that there is still a seven to eight month wait for the EV in the UK.

The reason for the price increases is due to a rise in costs for raw materials and energy, this has also affected Volkswagen too. Nickel and lithium, both two materials used heavily in electric cars are both getting more expensive for manufacturers.
