The popularity of the social media giant Instagram has been growing rapidly ever since it’s inception and also after Facebook acquired the company too. Also in the past Instagram has never shared how many active users it actually has but now due to the circumstances and the milestone that they have achieved, the company has revealed today that it now has over 500 million users signed up and just 300 million of those are users who log in every day and use it actively.

Instagram was launched back in October 2010 by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and then gained 100 million users by April 2012. Then in that same month Facebook acquired Instagram for $1 billion in cash and stock.

Mark Zuckerburg, Facebook CEO posted this earlier today:

What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments.
