iOS 15 supports iPhone 6s from 2015

iOS 15 supports iPhone 6s from 2015

Apple just announced iOS 15, with a whole host of new features with iCloud+, improvements to iMessage and FaceTime, a new look for the Maps and Weather app and more. However the other part of the news is how far back Apple is going with device support, Apple hasn’t cut off any supported devices since iOS 13 in 2019, when it dropped support for the iPhone 6.

By this time in 2022, support for the iPhone 6s would be over six and a half years. Admittedly, some newer features need newer hardware but the duration of support is impressive. Apple is doing a similar thing with the iPad line too, extending support to the iPad Air 2 still, from 2014. iPadOS support hasn’t changed since iPadOS 13 in 2019 too, like iOS.
