The Jaecoo 7 SHS is a plug-in-hybrid SUV using the Chery Super Hybrid System platform. This uses a combination of powertrains, with an 18.3kWh LFP battery driving the front mounted electric motor and a complimenting petrol engine. I total, the whole system makes 274bhp and offers 1,200km (745 miles) of range.
The battery can be charged either by AC at 6.6kW or DC at 40kW, if required.
In Germany, the Jaecoo 7 SHS will be priced from €36,900 (£32,000).
Eric Zheng, the Head of Germany Operations at Omoda & Jaecoo said:
“The launch of our operations in Germany is very special for us. With great respect for this market, we began setting up our research and development centre in Raunheim nearly a decade ago. With the JAECOO 7 SHS, we are now taking our first step in sales—with a product that has already demonstrated strong market acceptance in other regions"
Since launching the Jaecoo 7 in the UK around a year ago, it has quickly become one of the best selling cars. The brand sold over 4,000 in January 2026, placing it at the number two place, just marginally behind the Kia Sportage.
In 2025 alone, Jaecoo has a brand in th UK (which includes the Jaecoo 5 petrol, Jaecoo 5 EV and the Jaecoo 7) sold around 30,000 cars.
