Jaguar adds new mild-hybrid straight-six engines for the F-Pace

Jaguar adds new mild-hybrid straight-six engines for the F-Pace

Jaguar has added two new sport models to the F-Pace model lineup, with mild-hybrid straight-six engines in both petrol and diesel options. There is a 295bhp diesel and a 394bhp petrol on offer with prices starting at £62,250.

“Developing the new 300 Sport and 400 Sport models gave us the opportunity to subtly accentuate the F-Pace’s inherently assertive, purposeful design and deliver an even more confident on-road presence, while beautiful, rich materials, including meticulously crafted veneers, make the interiors even more luxurious. Together with the quiet, effortless performance from the six-cylinder engines, the new F-Pace 300 Sport and 400 Sport will make every journey extraordinary.”

Adam Hatton – Jaguar exterior design director

The F-Pace 300 Sport has a 3.0-litre straight-six mild-hybrid Diesel engine with 295bhp, 479lb ft torque and can do 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds. Top speed is 143mph and it has a claimed economy of 38.2mpg. The F-Pace 400 Sport has a 3.0-litre petrol version of the mentioned engine, but here it has 394bhp, 405lb ft of torque and can do 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds. Top speed here is 155mph.

The mild hybrid system is used to recoup any energy lost when braking and then uses it to help the car accelerate and with the stop-start system.

Inside, both new models have the new Pivi Pro infotainment system with integrated Amazon Alexa voice console and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Both new models are on sale now, starting at £62,250 for the 300 Sport and from £68,520 for the 400 Sport.
