Jaguar and Land Rover will be offering CarPlay in 2019

Jaguar Land Rover is set to be soon offering support for Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto very soon with its new 2019 model range, and then the new models which come afterwards.

CarPlay, or iOS in the Car as it was first known as back in 2014 has been slowly rolling out to new cars with new manufacturers and also some older car models being added all the time – but Jaguar and Land Rover have been missing off that list for a while now, with Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Vauxhall and even some Chinese car companies are getting involved, with Roewe now offering CarPlay on the RX5, eRX5, RX3 and i6 models.

CarPlay and Android Auto

Jaguar and Land Rover have said that the option for Android Auto and CarPlay won’t come as standard on some models, it will be offered as an optional extra in new cars, with the option to add when the car is being assembled at the factory or it can be retro fitted with a cost of $280.

Will my car support it?

JLR has said that any older Jaguar and Land Rover cars with the InControl Touch Pro or Touch Pro Duo infotainment system can get a software update to enable support for Android Auto and CarPlay. It is recommended to contact your local dealer for more information,

Where is this available?

So far it seems that only the United States and the United Kingdom are getting support for now, but we will update this article if we hear any more information.
