New EVs from XPeng to launch in the UK next year

XPeng, a pretty recent automotive newcomer, is planning on selling its latest electric car models in the UK - starting in 2025. XPeng was only founded as recently as 2014 but has worked quickly to expand operations, subsequently launching in Europe in 2020. XPeng has been offering most of its lineup in countries around Europe, but for now is planning on bringing just the one car to the UK. The XPeng G6 is an electric SUV, similar in size to the Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 6.

The XPeng G6 can do an impressive 342 miles on a single charge and uses either a LFP 66kWh or NMC 87.5kWh battery, although these specs could be altered between now and when the car goes on sale here. Charging speeds are also impressive at 280kW DC. 0-60mph is rated at under four seconds, when using the optional four wheel drive system.

"We are excited to introduce UK consumers to a new standard in electric mobility, combining innovative technology with exceptional design to deliver an unparalleled experience that meets the demands of today's drivers."

Alex Tang - Head of international business - XPeng

Pricing in the UK for the new XPeng G6 is yet to be revealed, but in Norway the base model costs 387,778 Krone, which works out at around £27,414. Standard kit is impressive too, with a 10.2-inch display for the driver, 15-inch infotainment screen, 18-speaker sound system, heated steering wheel, dual wireless smartphone charging pads and a panoramic glass roof - plus much more.

For sales in the UK, XPeng has decided to work with International Motors Limited for importing into the country as well the aftersales support. International Motors is also responsinble for importing GWM Ora, Subaru and Isuzu into the UK.
