New Lighting iPhone dock launches, works with iPhone 6

As well as the new 15-inch MacBook, price drops on the 5K iMac and more – Apple very quietly released a new dock for the iPhone, more specifically iPhones with Lightning docks.

Apple has release docks the iPhone 3G and iPhone 4 but in 2012 when Apple moved from the 30-pin connector to Lighting we had to wait until the iPhone 5c and 5s until we got a dock that would work with the new phones. The new dock is simply named the “iPhone Lightning Dock” and it will take any iPhone or iPod touch with the Lightning connector while also being able to play audio using the 3.5mm headphone jack. But the best thing about this dock is that fact that unlike the previous version for iPhone 5s and 5c, this works with the first party cases and it looks like those docks have been discontinued.

As in the image, the dock works very well with third-party cases, such as the official Apple cases.

The new dock comes in at £35 ($39) and is available today from the Apple Online Store, as well as the physical Retail Stores.
