This week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, MG was on top form as the 'celebrated marque' of the event this year, with a special MG themed sculpture which had a Cyberster and an original MG B adorned. To this end, the new Cyber GTS has taken the essence of the old MG B GT and is a new four seater version of the Cyberster convertible. MG has said that the GTS is only a concept for now and that public reaction to the model will determine if its gets the green light.
Lead designers at MG, Jozef Kaban and Carl Gotham said that the Cyberster was always designed to be either a coupé or convertible and that the concept revealed is pretty close to what a road-going version would look like. The only thing MG hasn't shown off is the interior, which is likely to be pretty identical to the convertible version, albeit with two additional seats.
MG hasn't said much regarding a potential release date, but at Goodwood the company did hint at that the 60th anniversary of the B GT is in 2025, so we could see the new car next year. Also due to not being signed off yet, prices are not mentioned, but the Cyberster is priced at £55,000 currently.
