Earlier this week, Netflix made its new ad-supported plan live in twelve countries around the world, but there seems to be something the company overlooked in testing. The new plan doesn’t work on Apple TV hardware devices yet, Netflix says that support for tvOS is “coming soon.”

“Basic with ads isn’t supported on Apple TV. To watch Netflix on your Apple TV, you’ll need to upgrade your Netflix plan to the Basic, Standard, or Premium plan. Or, to watch Netflix and stay on your current plan, you’ll need to use a different device.”

The new plan is called “Basic with ads” and doesn’t work on all versions of the Apple TV, including the brand new Apple TV 4K which was released to stores yesterday. This seems like a huge oversight, but the company does say it’ll be sorted soon, with no explanation as to why it doesn’t work.

Netflix “Basic with ads” is available now in the UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Spain. Next week, on Tuesday it’ll then come to Canada and Mexico.

Along with the Apple TV, the new plan isn’t support on the PlayStation 3, older Chromecast models and needs iOS 15 or later.
