New refreshed Hyundai i20 launched, on sale later this year

Hyundai has recently launched the new refreshed i20 hatchback, with some improvements to the safety equipment and exterior design. The new model will go on sale later this year in the UK, with prices starting at £20,770. The i20 has seen declining sales as of late, so the company is hoping the new refreshed model will help boost sales.

For the engines, Hyundai has trimmed down what they offer. All cars now get a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 98bhp. Hyundai have stopped offering the 118bhp.

Hyundai is offering three trim levels, Advance, Premium and Ultimate. For the base model, it comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, 8-inch infotainment screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a leather steering wheel. For this refresh, Hyundai has also worked to make it a much safer car, every model now comes with cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, speed warning system, lane keep assist and automatic high-beam.

Jumping up to the Premium trim costs £22,570. You get things like 17-inch alloy wheels, electric mirrors, privacy glass, automatic wipers, ambient lighting, climate control, heated seats, heated steering wheel and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen.

At the very top of the lineup is the Ultimate, costing £24,070 and comes with keyless entry, start stop, wireless phone charging, Bose speaker system and blindspot monitoring.

At the moment, the i20N has effectively been discontinued. A spokesperson from the company said it’ll likely be returning to showrooms at a later date.
