Earlier this month, Apple announced that the iPod touch was being discontinued – marking an end to an era. Apple started making iPods back in 2001 which helped rescue the, at the time struggling company. Just a few weeks ago Apple said the iPod touch would remain up for sale so long as stock last.
It seems that stock didn’t last long at all, as Apple has now removed all references to the iPod touch as the marketing page from its website. The URL for it now redirects to the support page for the iPod, where customers can find user manuals and iPod technical specifications.
The seventh generation iPod touch was launched in 2019, with a four inch screen, A10 Fusion chip from the iPhone 7 and, a 3.5mm headphone jack. At the moment, it is not known if Apple will support the iPod touch with future iOS updates, with iOS 16 set to be announced next month.
