Samsung has a 4TB SSD – be prepared for the cost

In recent years, Samsung has become the king of SSD storage and the innovation and new products for the storage market, not only does the company create fantastic televisions but also ground breaking new components for computers. Now this week Samsung has come out with a new SSD which has 4TB of onboard capacity, basically designed to replace your entire hard drive, but at a cost. The new 850 Evo despite isn’t enormous capacity does have read and write speed limits, although it is miles faster than your average hard drive.

As ever with new technology, the 4TB SSD from Samsung will cost $1,500 when it’s released – so mostly aimed at servers and corporate machines but this does shed light on what is possible and in time the price will come down.
