Telegram has confirmed that some paid features are coming soon

Telegram founder, Pavel Durov has recently announced that the social media app is going to be gaining some new premium features later this month, with a new ‘Telegram Premium’ plan. Durov has not yet confirmed all of the new features that will be included, but more information will be available when the feature becomes available.

Durov has outlined that as Telegram has become more popular, people have been asking to have the limit raised on the chats and media uploads. However, in doing this for every single user the server costs would increase beyond what the company could afford to do, so the best case scenario is to introduce a premium plan.

Despite this announcement, Durov has stressed to existing users that the company is planning on releasing new features for free users. The subscription is rumoured to be $5 per month, but we’ll have to see what Telegram has planned.
