Ubiquiti announces new AI Dome camera for UniFi Protect

Earlier this week, Ubiquiti launched a bunch of brand new cameras, UniFi Protect 5.1 and some new accessories. One of those cameras was the AI Dome, which has a similar design to the G5 Dome Ultra. For now, the AI Dome comes in white only and has an impressive list of specs.

The camera has a new 4K 8MP sensor, 40m IR night vision, integrated microphones, but also a microSD card slot. The SD card can be used for edge recording, should the network link between the camera and the NVR be disconnected. Ubiquiti has said though, that the SD card must be at least 64GB, with no maximum size listed.

Being a AI camera, it is capable of AI detections, including people, vehicles and animals but also, faces and licence plates.

The new AI Dome camera is on sale now in the US, UK and EU. For Canada, it is listed as "coming soon" for now. Pricing is $499 US, £456 UK, €559.65 EU and $680 CA.
