Ubiquiti announces new G4 Instant camera for UniFi Protect, in beta currently

Today Ubiquiti has announced the all new G4 Instant camera designed for UniFi Protect. This is a follow up on the G3 Instant and upgrades a lot the specs from the old model. For starters, it now has a 5MP sensor, which is capable of recording 2K video, the G3 model only goes up to 1080p.

Ubiquiti never usually reveals a new beta product publicly, usually it stays around in the Early Access store until it gets launched properly. However, Ubiquiti has released a YouTube video about the new G4 Instant and all that is new.

It is also now IPX5-rated, meaning it is suitable for use outdoors in the elements.

The G3 Instant remains on sale at $29 but the G4 Instant is currently on the company’s beta store for $99.
