Ubiquiti launches new entry level UniFi EV Station Lite

Ubiquiti has debuted a new UniFi EV Station model for its UniFi Connect platform, with the new EV Station Lite. This joins the existing EV Station Pro which was announced in December 2023. Interestingly, to go along with this new release, Ubiquiti has also stopped selling and advertising the original standard EV Station model, only now offering the new Lite and the Pro version. The main benefit of the Pro model is the addition of WiFi support and card payment processing, although this does require an add-on accessory.

The new EV Station Lite has identical charging capabilities to the Pro model, with a SAE J1772 charging plug and support for up to 11kW AC charging speeds. The use of SAE J1772 does mean that it is restricted for use in North America where the socket is more widely used, but that is being gradually fazed out in preference of Tesla's NACS connector.

Other differences include the size and the front, this does away with the huge screen on the Pro model, which is used for displaying advertisements and other content from UnIFi Connect. Instead, we have a 1.7-inch LCM panel and overall, this is a slimmer device and the charging port is also a separate item. Access to charging can be done via the UnIFi Identity App or via an NFC card.

The new EV Station Lite is on sale now, direct from Ubiquiti in the US for $499.
