Volkswagen introduces new ID.4 GTX with 295bhp and 298 miles of range

Last week we reported that Volkswagen would be launching a new GTX version of the ID.4 all electric SUV, with four wheel drive and more power. Today Volkswagen has introduced the ID.4 GTX, it has 295bhp, four wheel drive from two motors and a range of 298 miles. The GTX line will sit alongside the GTI, GTE and GTD brands Volkswagen has and will the brand for performance electric models.

The ID.4 GTX has GTX badges, gloss black air vents, black roof and spoiler as well as LED lighting and an X shape rear brake light. Inside, the ID.4 GTX has red stitching on the seats, but premium sports seats are optional. On GTI, GTE and GTD cars, Volkswagen offers tartan seats but here, Volkswagen hasn’t opted to offer that.

Battery wise, the ID.4 GTX has a 77kW system with 298 miles of range. Like most performance models Volkswagen offers, the ride height down by 15mm. 0-60mph is handled in 6.2 seconds and the top speed is 112mph.

The ID.4 GTX will go on sale in Germany this summer for €50,415, which is £43,800 and a UK launch will happen later this year, but Volkswagen is get to confirm UK prices.
