Volkswagen has only just opened the order books in Germany for the new and updated ID.3 only just a few weeks after being announced. Volkswagen announced the new ID.3 a few weeks ago and was actually brought forward, after issues with the first generation had been plaguing customers, such as the infotainment and touch sensitive buttons.

The new ID.3 Pro has a 58kWh battery pack and costs €39,995 in Germany, with the ID.3 Pro S having a 77kWh battery and priced from €47,595.

Other areas within Europe will also be able to pre-order the new ID.3 later in April. The base ID.3 Pro with the 58kWh pack also has support for 150kW charging speeds. Base equipment comes with 18-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, automatic headlights, rear LED lights as well as a twelve inch touchscreen for the infotainment.

The new ID.3 also comes free with only one colour, ‘Moonstone Grey’ with a black roof. All other colours are a paid option, ranging from €710 and €860. Optional rims cost between €705 and €1,900 and are between 18-inches and 20-inches.

Like some other new Volkswagen ID vehicles, the new ID.3 doesn’t come standard with a heat pump, instead it is now a one off option, costing €990.
