Report: iPhone 5s will most likely work with iOS 12

Very soon, we will see the first versions of iOS 12 make appearances this June at Apple’s annual WWDC developers conference, and while we have all the nice positive press surrounding new features, big changes and also security enhancements it’s rarely all good news for those users who are on the older devices, the ones on the bottom of the supported devices list.

iPhone 5s

Last year, with iOS 11 the iPhone 5s which was launched at the end of 2013 was the oldest supported device, so naturally you’d expect that with the release of iOS 12 later this year, Apple would drop support. This would be a shame, even by todays standards the iPhone 5s is still a solid phone, with the A7 chipset, Touch ID, decent camera and it even has the M7 motion co-processor.

Well, things could be looking positive, earlier today it was noted by French tech blog MacGeneration as well as 9to5Mac that web traffic and user agents on websites have picked up traffic from the iOS 12 operating system running on an iPhone 5s simulator.

So hopefully, this means that the iPhone 5s should work with iOS 12, but stay tuned to A&T Tech for more information and updates.
