When is iOS 18 going to be available, and for which devices?

Apple held its annual iPhone launch event earlier this week, where it debuted the new iPhone 16 lineup, updates to AirPods and the latest Apple Watch Series 10. Its website was also updated with the release date of iOS 18, which brings many new features that were previewed back in June, at WWDC.

At a top level, it beings Apple Intelligence, a wide array of AI based features that will make your daily life on the iPhone a bit more convienit. This includes the abilty to type out requests to Siri, have emails and text messages rewritten in a better tone, as well as image generation. Apple Intelligence won't be coming to the UK and EU just yet, only in the US later this year in December.

iOS 18 also adds a new level of Home Screen customisation, allowing you to rearrange app icons outside of the grid for the very first time as well as new colour schemes. Control centre can also be customised too.

When will it be available?

Apple will releasee iOS 18 on 16th September, likely around 6pm BST. This time is an estimate, but based on previous releases seem, this is when it is made available.

Which devices will it work with?

The following devices will work with iOS 18. Any iPhone that was released in 2017 and earlier won't be able to work with this new release. Don't panic though, it'll still work perfectly fine and be secure too as Apple still patches issues dating as far back as iOS 12 in some cases.
