HBO cancels plan to remove HBO GO and HBO NOW from old Apple TV models

HBO cancels plan to remove HBO GO and HBO NOW from old Apple TV models

Last week, we reported that in the US, HBO would be removing its HBO GO and HBO NOW apps from the second and third generation Apple TV units, and making the services unavailable on the 30th April 2020. When speaking to Engadget on Friday, the company said that HBO NOW will have a few days extra and will now be removed on the 15th May 2020.

HBO GO will stick around for a bit longer, however.

HBO GO and HBO NOW are available on the newer Apple TV models, with the App Store. The Apple TV HD was introduced in 2015 and the Apple TV 4K in 2017.
