Toyota opens up pre-orders for the new GR Yaris, starting at £29,995

Toyota opens up pre-orders for the new GR Yaris, starting at £29,995

Back in early March, we reported that Toyota had revealed the pricing for the new upcoming GR Yaris hot hatch and starting this week, the car has now opened up for pre-orders, with deliveries starting in November. The GR Yaris will go on sale in October 2020, with deliveries taking place a month later.

The new GR Yaris starts at £29,995 here in the UK. Two trim levels exist, the GR Yaris and the Circuit Pack version, which bumps the price up to £33,995. Colours available are white, red, black and silver. Interestingly, white is the only free colour option, the rest are paid extras.

“Just as the Celica GT-Four was the road-going equivalent of our Group A Celica rally cars in the Nineties, the GR Yaris serves as the official homologation model for the development of the next Yaris WRC car. In fact, in reference to its illustrious predecessors and their all-wheel drive technology, the GR Yaris features a GR-Four logo on the tailgate.”

The standard car gets you 18-inch alloy wheels, with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres and a dual exhaust system. The Circuit Pack version adds a limited-slip differential, red brake callipers and higher spec Michelin Pilot sports tyres.

The GR Yaris only comes in a three door variant and has four wheel drive as standard. The engine produces 257bhp from its 1.6-litre size, which is turbocharged. Driving all four wheels is a six speed gearbox.
