Jaecoo has recently updated the popular Jaecoo 7 SUV with a new full hybrid option, complimenting the existing plug-in-hybrid and pure petrol versions. This uses the same 1.5-litre engine found in the other variants, but helps boost the rated efficiency from 35MPG to 51.8MPG.
This setup is what the brand is calling SHS-H (Super Hybrid System – Hybrid) and we've seen it recently in the Omoda 5 SHS-H and in fact, the specs are very similar. In the Jaecoo, it offers 220bhp, 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 112mph. The 1.5-litre petrol engine is combined with a 1.83kWh battery to kick in when required. Jaecoo has also renamed its plug-in-hybrid variants to SHS-P, these were previously simply SHS.
Jaecoo offers the SHS-H in two trim levels, either Pure or Deluxe. For the entry level model you get a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, 50W wireless phone charger, surround view camera and fabric seats. Jumping up to the Deluxe adds a larger 14.8-inch screen, PM2.5 Air purification, heated steering wheel and synthetic leather seats.

Jaecoo has also added a new Black Luxury trim level to the Jaecoo 7 lineup, with black alloys, black badges and black paint. This new version is available as a plug-in-hybrid only and costs £36,500.
The new Jaecoo 7 SHS-H starts at £29,195, doing well to undercut rivals like the Kia Sportage hybrid by just over £5,000. It even comes in at just under the base manual petrol Sportage. Jumping up to the Deluxe trim adds £3,600 and comes in at £32,795.
