Tesla Model 3 is the first electric NYC yellow cab

The Tesla Model 3 is now the first ever electric vehicle to be officially approved as a yellow cab in New York City. The car was approved for use as a yellow cab over a year ago in October 2019. The Model 3 is also in use in the Netherlands where 100 are in use at the moment at the airport in Amsterdam.

This is certainly good to see at least in the UK we haven’t made this step yet, but we have a hybrid London Taxi manufactured by the LEVC which has a petrol generator to charge the onboard batteries and the electric motors drive the wheels.
