PC sales in the UK increased last year

New data from a report from The Register has surfaced this week with information about PC sales in the UK during 2020. The report says that four million brand new PCs during the fourth quarter of 2020, with 439,000 desktop PCs sold and 3.554 million laptops sold.

The amount of laptops sold makes sense, with people working from home since March 2020 and school children doing the same, the ability to work in any space in the house is much needed. A long time ago the idea of one device per household is no longer applicable, with lots of households having at least one device per person, with some people having three, smartphone, tablet and laptop or desktop. And with IoT devices becoming more and more popular, the amount of devices per household is increasing.

In 2020, 12.15 million PCs were sold here in the UK, 32.3% more than 2019.
