Audi launches new RWD R8 V10

Audi has launched a new rear wheel drive version of the Audio R8 supercar this week, Wirth the R8 V10 Performance RWD. Audi has now stopped selling the standard R8 in the UK and when the new version goes on sale later this month, every version will be the new ‘Performance’ models. Audi will still be selling all wheel drive versions, alongside the new rear wheel drive option.

This does mean however, that Audi has introduced a price increase on the range, prices in the UK now start at £126,885, around £7,000 more than the old lineup. The new R8 will go on sale in the UK, starting on the 21st October 2021.

As the R8 is now only available in the ‘Performance’, it does mean that there is more power available, it has the same 5.2-litre V10 but with 562bhp new, 29bhp more than before. The R8 RWD can do 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and 3.8 seconds for the Spyder version.

Inside, the sports seats are covered in app leather and driver gets a large 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit with no central screen. Wireless smartphone charging is also included.

Prices start at £126,885 for the R8 V10 Performance RWD, the Spyder version us £135,575. Bumping up to AWD costs £146,990 for the coupe and £155,680 for the Spyder.
