Ubiquiti announces new WiFiMan Wizard, a portable spectrum analyser

Today, Ubiquiti has announced the new WiFiMan Wizard, a portable spectrum analyser. Ubiquiti has launched the device to the EA store and should be available to everyone as ‘GA’ soon. The company posted a YouTube video outlining the history of the WiFiMan app and what the new WiFiMan Wizard can do for you.

The device is about the same size as a MagSafe Battery from Apple and can be attached using MagSafe to the back of an iPhone, if required. It also comes with a case and keyring for attachment to the back of a backpack so it can scan the WiFi environment without being blocked by your hand.

The WiFiMan Wizard connects via Bluetooth to your device and then scans the wireless environment on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz to help you work out what the best channels are to use. Of course, the WiFi scanning function is still built into the WiFiMan app, this is now a dedicated hardware device that can be used instead or as well as.

It has a battery built in and can be charged via the included USB-C cable.
