Ubiquiti introduces new G6 Turret 4K camera

UniFi G6 Turret

Alongside the new G6 Bullet launched at the end of March, Ubiquiti also revealed a new sixth generation turret camera for UniFi Protect. The G6 Turret is available in two different colours straight away, coming in white or black. However in the UK and US, the black version is delayed until July 2025.

The G6 Turret costs $199 in the US and £190.80 in the UK and Ubiquiti only really started offering true turret cameras with the G5 Turret Ultra as a lower end model, but this G6 model is quite high end in terms of specs.

With the new G6 cameras, Ubiquiti has built in a new multi-TOPs AI engine which it says means it can now handle Face ID for UniFi Access and license plate recognition too. The G6 Turret is 4K with an 8MP sensor and manually adjustable body.

The G6 Turret is also NDAA Compliant in the US, meaning they adhere to government requirements, which essentially bans all Chinese security camera manufacturers, such as Dahua, Huawei and others.

In regard to the G5 line of cameras, Ubiquiti has outlined where the new G6 cameras fit in, saying:

"Install G6 cameras if you want high-quality 4K coverage, built-in face and license plate recognition, and durable IP66 housing at a highly competitive price point. They sit squarely between the simpler G5 line (with lower resolution and fewer analytics) and the more specialized AI Series (with unique form factors and advanced capabilities)."

The new G6 Turret is now on sale in the US for $199, UK for £190.80 and in Europe for €222.00.
