Today, Zoom has revealed that soon, Tesla vehicles will have native access to the video conferencing app. The news came via the company’s annual Zoomtopia 2022 event today. The Zoom app will run natively on Tesla vehicles and utilise the cabin camera that is located just above the rear-view mirror. To date, the interior camera has gone unused and hasn’t really served a purpose.

Earlier this year, some people noticed that during a promotional video for V11 of the Tesla software, the Zoom icon was present. However, Tesla had never addressed this and the only thing that was publicly said is that Elon Musk mentioned that using meeting software in Tesla is “definitely a future feature.”

No exact timings have been released either by Zoom or Tesla as to when this new update is coming, but it was said that it would be coming to “all new Tesla models soon.” We also don’t know whether it’ll be restricted to use on WiFi only or cellular, for those users who have paid for the Premium Connectivity.
