Tesla has recently recalled 29,348 Model X vehicles due to a software issue that could affect the functionality of the airbag. This recall affects vehicles in the US and ones that were manufactured between 2021 2022. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published a PDF outlining the specifics. According to the NHTSA, this issue could cause the airbag to deploy in some low-speed collisions when it wasn’t needed.

The NHTSA also outlined that it would also result in noncompliance of the law when a child around three to six years old is seating in the front passenger seat without a seatbelt and out of position.

Most Tesla recalls don’t require customers to take the car to a service centre, instead it’ll be fixed with an over-the-air firmware update, which is rolling out now to those affected vehicles.
