Tesla first launched its new fourth generation Superchargers in the Netherlands back in 2023, offering longer cables for better compatibility with non-Tesla electric vehicles as well as faster charging when V4 hardware is utilised inside. However, up until now the company hasn't installed any in China.
Tesla has lit up seven new sites in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Gansu and Chongqing and are open to all EVs.
Tesla has just installed its 70,000 Supercharger pretty recently and in China online, there are 2,100 locations with 11,600 individual charging bays.
As for pricing, at the location in Chongqing for example the price per kWh is ¥1.08 at its highest, which works out to be £0.11. There is also a service fee of ¥0.91 (£0.09), but it isn't clear if this is a one off charge or added on per kWh.
