Ford has today announced a new luxury focused version the latest generation of Ranger pickup truck. The Ranger Platinum will cost from £44,400 in the UK and is pitched as a more luxury option and Ford is hoping to convert some customers to go more upmarket than the Wildtrak model. The Wildtrak is the most popular trim level for the Ranger in the UK, with it making up 80% of all sales in 2021.

Ford has said it is anticipating that the new Platinum will take some potential Wildtrak customers and be around 7% of all Ranger sales once it becomes available.

The Ford Ranger Platinum adds some new styling upgrades over the standard models, including chrome-finished front grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lights, roof rails and an automatic gearbox as standard. The box is 10-speed is built to make sure it makes much less noise.

The new Ranger Platinum joins the other true levels such as the entry level XL, priced at £24,750 and the XLT, at £27,350. The top of the line Raptor still sits at the top of the range, at £58,900 and has a 288bhp V6 with a more capable off-road setup.
