Ubiquiti has raised the prices of the unlocked version of the UniFi Phone Touch Max this week, as spotted by Ubiquiti YouTuber, Cody MacCallum. The two touchscreen UniFi Talk phones are both available as either a locked or unlocked model, with relatively higher prices on the unlocked versions. However, as Cody noted, Ubiquiti has raised the price of the Phone Touch Max by a huge amount, jumping from $129 to $299 and then Ubiquiti will sell the locked version for $129.

The unlocked Phone Touch Max is on sale now from the official Ubiquiti Store, for $299.

UniFi Talk can be used with third party SIP providers or with the UniFi Talk SIP. When a phone is unlocked, it means it can be used with a phone number that’s apart of a group or a third party sip number. When the phone is locked, it can only be used when there is an active Talk subscription on the account, hence why the hardware costs less as Ubiquiti can offset it with the subscription. The UniFi Talk Flex and ATA adaptor are both seemingly unlocked, it is just the Phone Touch and Phone Touch Max which have unlocked and locked variations.

UniFi Talk is only available in the US at the time of writing and Ubiquiti is planning on bringing it to more areas, but where those are is yet to be seen.
