Lotus introduces new Turbo and V6 SE trims for Emira sports car

Lotus Emira Green

Lotus has refreshed its only combustion model with a new V6 SE model as well as an entry-level four cylinder to bolster out the range. The Emira is sold alongside the Eletre electric SUV and the company's electric GT car, the Emeya. It's a two seater petrol sports car with the choice of ether a manual or dual-clutch gearbox and can be had with either a V6 or four-cylinder turbo charged unit.

Lotus has added a new V6 SE option, which has the same engine as before but with suspension, gearbox and other changes to improve the way it drives and reduce weight. There is also a new entry level Turbo model but has slightly less power than the Turbo SE but brings the price down to £79,500.

V6 SE

With the V6 SE, the engine has remained unchanged. Like before it is a 3.5-litre supercharged unit making 400bhp and can be configured with either a six-speed manual or dual-clutch automatic gearbox. 0-62mph is handled in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 180mph.

Lotus has said it has made a number of refinements, such as a new compression mount for the manual gearbox which the company says will result in more precise gear changes.

The V6 SE also has two suspension choices, with 'Tour' which is geared up for everyday use and should offer a more comftiable ride. Pricing starts at £96,500 for the V6 SE and goes up to £99,500 for the V6 SE Racing Line version which adds red or silver accents on the mirrors, front splitter and break calibers.

Turbo

The new entry level Turbo joins the Turbo SE in the lineup, which was launched in Autumn 2024. This new version has the same four-cylinder engine as the Turbo SE but now makes 360bhp vs 400bhp in the SE. Both models are only available with a eight speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with the V6 SE model being available with either a manual or automatic.

While the Turbo SE has 40bhp more, can do 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds vs 4.4 seconds it does come in at £10,000 more.

Both the Turbo and Turbo SE come with 12-way electric seats, 12.3-inch driver's display and a 10.25-inch infotainment with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Both the Emira Turbo and V6 SE can be ordered now and will arrive in showrooms in September 2025.
