2024 Ford Mustang V8 now on sale in the UK

In the last few days, Ford has made the brand new seventh generation Mustang available in the UK and this time, it’ll only be available as a V8 with the 2.3-litre variant not planned for a UK launch. The new car is available to order now, with prices starting at £55,685 for the Mustang GT, which can be had as either a coupé or convertible. At this price, it is significantly more than the old Mustang, when it debuted back in 2015 it was £33,705. However, it is still the cheapest new V8 on sale in the UK.

There is also a more powerful Dark Horse edition available, which costs £67,995.

The new Mustang is more of a significant facelift and reworking, rather than an all new car. Ford is still using the existing platform from the sixth generation, so in our mind this is more of a MK6.5 rather than a MK7, but there is a lot that has changed so it does somewhat make sense. Because it isn’t sitting on the latest CD6 architecture, the Mustang doesn’t have any of the modern driving aids Ford has been using or any electrified systems – however, this news may please a lot of Mustang purists.

One area that has had a lot of work however, is the engine. Fundamentally, it is the same 5.0-litre V8 we’ve seen before, but Ford has updated it with a new bore and stroke design. Ford is also still offering the Mustang with a six-speed manual, as well as a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. That V8 makes 439bhp and 398lb ft of torque, a bit more than before.

Inside, there is a 12.3-inch digital drivers display and 13.2-inch infotainment system running SYNC 4. This means that the Mustang is now capable of software updates over the air.

The new Ford Mustang is available to order now in the UK, with prices from £55,685. Deliveries start in July.
