According to research, 62% of people using Apple TV+ are on a free trial

Apple TV+ has been with us for over a year now and back in November 2019, Apple gave away a one year free trial with any new device purchases as a kind of kick start for users into the new service then Apple would boost up the platforms content in the next year. Well that was an issue due to the year we all had last year and understandably, Apple’s ability to produce new content was hampered. Even with the obvious restrictions, Apple still managed to get a lot of great new shows and films out, even if it had to purchase a film or two along the way.

In the past few months, Apple has decided to extend the free trial of Apple TV+ a few times. Back in October 2020 Apple announced that the trial would be extended until February, and then just last week Apple announced it would be extended until July 2021.

According to new research from MoffettNathan’s SVOD Tracker report, it says that over half of all Apple TV+ users are using the service via a free trial. The report says a “whopping 62%” are on a free trial. MoffettNathan’s report also says that 29% of the users do not plan on renewing the service once the free trial comes to an end.

Apple TV+ comes in at £4.99 / $4.99 per month on its own, and if using Family Sharing that is extended with up to six people. Apple TV+ is also included in all of the Apple One plans that were launched last year.
