AirPlay 2 and HomeKit is now available on Roku devices

Starting today, Roku is rolling out an update for some of the company’s hardware to support Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit which is a welcome update.

The Roku devices already have the Apple TV app and AirPlay 2 adds multi-room audio support and HomeKit will allow you to use Siri to turn on the Roku, use automations and more.

RokuOS 9.4 is rolling out “in phases over the coming weeks” the company says and works with the Roku Ultra, Roku Streambar, Roku Smart Soundbar, Roku Streaming Stick Plus, and Roku Premiere. TVs running Roku software will also get the update and support for HomeKit and AirPlay 2.
