All electric Porsche Macan revealed, on sale later this year

Porsche’s second all electric car has officially been unveiled today. Following on from the Taycan is the brand new Macan which will go on sale in the UK later this year. For the next year or so, Porsche will be selling this new EV version alongside the petrol one and this will be the the case up until the end of 2025 when the Macan will be an EV only car. Prices start at £69,800 for the 402bhp Macan 4 and from £95,000 for the top of range 630bhp Macan Turbo.

Porsche was using the name ‘E-Macan’ internally by its development team, but that name has been dropped for the production version and it’ll just be known as the Macan. Porsche was planning on making the car available in 2023, but due to some software related issues it was delayed. Porsche is making the new electric Macan an integral part of its transition to EV, with its aim to have 80% of sales globally be full electric by 2030.

Porsche has other plans for new EVs and also wider in the VW Group. The new Macan sits on a brand new platform called Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and will also see the new Audi Q6 E-tron use it too. In 2026, the new electric Cayenne will launch and will also use the PPE platform.

The new Macan has a 95kWh battery pack and supports up to 270kW charging and also features a 800V battery pack. Porsche claim 10-80% in 21 minutes. WLTP range is at 381 miles for the Macan 4 and 367 miles for the Macan Turbo.

Inside, the car runs on the Android Automotive operating system and has three displays, one 12.6-inch screen for the driver, one central 10.9-inch screen for the central infotainment and then a supplemental 10.9-inch screen for the passenger.

The new Macan will go on sale later this year, with prices starting at £69,800.
