Analyst: Apple sold over 40 million iPhone 13 units during the holidays

According to an analyst from Wedbush, it is believed that Apple sold more than 40 million units from the iPhone 13 line, which includes the iPhone 13 , iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. If this report is true, then despite the well known chip shortages, Apple would have had a record period over the Christmas holidays.

Over the period, demand has been reported to be higher that what Apple has had in supply, with around 12 million phones to be sold in December quarter alone.

Daniel Ives from Wedbush reported this news and he said that a lot of the demand for the iPhone 13 line has come from China. He also reckons that around 230 million of the 975 million iPhone users around the world have not updated to a new phone in around three and a half years, so there is a lot of potential out there for more sales.
