Apple launches Podcasts Subscriptions

Back in April, Apple announced Podcasts Subscriptions for its official Apple Podcasts app and that it would be launching soon, well this week as of Tuesday 15th June the new service is available with a large selection of paid shows, channels and more.

Creators of shows can opt to offer a paid version on the Podcasts app with monthly payments which go through Apple’s IAP model, of which they get 30% and the creator receives 70%. Creators don’t need to host the podcast themselves, Apple will take care of the file and it is managed that way. Users can get early access to episodes as well as exclusive episodes.
