Apple Music coming soon to the new Mercedes MBUX infotainment system

Mercedes has announced recently that it is partnering with Apple to have native integration into its new MBUX infotainment system for Apple Music. Other companies have done this recently, with Porsche adding native Apple Music and Podcasts support last summer.

The MBUX system comes on the C-Class, S-Class, and the all electric EQS and the Apple Music integration is different to CarPlay which needs a phone connected all the time, whether it be wireless or wired. This works with the built in operating system that comes with the car and on Mercedes vehicles you’ll just need to link your “Mercedes me” account to the car.

Apple Music subscribers will be able to use the “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant to control the playback.

Apple Music‌ integration will come to the C-Class, S-Class and EQS models later this year in the US, via an over-the-air update.
