When Apple announced the new Apple Watch Series 8 and SE 2 earlier this month, the spec sheets suggested that the company hadn’t upgraded the Bluetooth version in the new models, instead keeping them on Bluetooth 5.0. However, we have now seen that it has since been updated to show that both models now have Bluetooth 5.3. This news was shared this week by MacRumors.

This issue must have been simple typo and an oversight when editing the website. In fact, all of the new devices launched this month have the newer Bluetooth 5.3 version, including iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, AirPods Pro second generation and the Apple Watch Ultra.

Bluetooth 5.3 as a standard is more efficient, with greater reliability. However, with Apple’s custom implementation using its own hardware, it is unclear if these benefits will trickle down.
