BMW announces new all electric iX M60 with 611bhp

BMW announces new all electric iX M60 with 611bhp

BMW has released a new high performance variant of the already rapid, all electric iX SUV. This marks the first EV from the M performance division inside BMW. For the cars size, it has some impressive specifications, with 611bhp, 811lb ft of torque and a 0-60mph time of 3.9 seconds. Price is from £111,905.

This new model will be available in the UK this summer and follows on from the standard iX which was launched in late 2021. The standard model iX xDrive40 has 257 miles of range, with the xDrive50 offering up to 380 miles. Comparatively, the new iX M60 has 357 miles of range – with it taking a bit of a hit, thanks to the huge increase in power.

Looks wise, BMW hasn’t gone bonkers like it usually does with the M models, an M5 over a normal 5 series looks quite a bit more aggressive but this time, there isn’t much differentiation. BMW has said that with the M60 it has focused on the sound, with a different tone while driving and when the car starts up and shuts down.

Inside, there is FSC-certified wood and other renewable, recycled materials. For example, recycled fishing nets help make up the floor mats.

The iX M60 adds some extra equipment over the standard iX models. There are soft close doors, advanced park assist package, 22-inch alloy wheels and a Bower & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system.
