Joining the existing, and quite well received lineup of plug-in-hybrid and pure petrol SUVs in the UK, is a new compact SUV from Chery. The new Tiggo 4 CSH is the first model from the brand to offer a full-hybrid system, although its subsidiaries such as Omoda do offer a similar system, like the one found in the new Omoda 5 SHS-H.
The new Chery Tiggo 4 CSH features a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.83kWh battery, which is the exact same setup found in that new Omoda 5 hybrid. In combination, they have an output of 201bhp total and 0-62mph is handled in 8.9 seconds, with a top speed of 93mph.
Only the one powertrain will be offered in the UK for the Tiggo 4, although in other markets such as Australia, it is available as a pure petrol. It remains to be seen if Chery will offer a pure ICE model, but if so the price could drop down even further.

Inside, there are two displays, which look similar to what we see in the larger Tiggo 7, but less rounded on the sides. However, the software looks nearly identical, which is no bad thing.
The pricing is extremely competitive for an SUV of this size, powertrain and warranty - starting at just £19,995. This makes it significantly cheaper than the likes of the Nissan Juke, Kia Stonic and Vauxhall Frontera. Pre-orders are starting now in the UK, with more specific details to be released in due course.
