Caterham announces new Seven 170, its lightest model yet

A few days ago, British sports car manufacturer Caterham has announced its lightest production car to date with the new Seven 170. The new model weighs just 440kg and a low price too, of £22,990.

Caterham is using the Seven 170 as the entry level model in the line up, with it being the most modest too for performance. It has a 660cc turbocharged engine from Suzuki, with 84bhp. 0-60mph is handled in 6.9 seconds and it’ll hit 100mph+.

As always, Caterham offers a self build kit for the Seven 170, which comes in at £22,990 or it’ll be available as a pre-built model, but Caterham hasn’t said yet how much that’ll cost.
