This is due to Tesla’s share price rising up again, bringing his net worth up to $185 billion surpassing the previous top spot, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who has been the world’s richest person since 2017 with his net worth of $184 billion.

In the last year, Tesla’s share price has been climbing and climbing, with more Model 3 sales and the Model Y release and in turn, Elon’s net worth has rocketed too. A year ago, his net worth was $27 billion.
