Ford Mondeo lives on over in China

Ford announced earlier this year that the Mondeo brand in the EU and UK would be going away in 2022, but in various findings today on the Chinese Ministry for Industry and Information Technology website, the Ford Mondeo is back with a fifth generation. Ford will begin delivering the new car to Chinese customers in the second quarter of 2022.

The new car is the result of a new collaboration been Ford and Changan in Chongqing. The new car won’t be coming to the EU and UK, as Ford has publicly said that the saloon won’t be returning. However, there is nothing to say that this could be the new Fusion for the US.

The images provided are of the ST-Line model, with 19-inch wheels, slim LED headlights and red brake callipers.

Inside is the new Sync+ 2.0 UX infotainment system, which includes a Baidu application too. The screen is also huge, at 1.1-metre.
